How We Heal?

John discusses common psychological treatments.

Anxiety

Anxiety is nervousness, unease, or worry that occurs in the absence of an imminent threat. It is different from our response to fear in the face of danger.

Trauma

Emotional trauma occurs when stressful events overwhelm our ability to learn, cope, and work through challenges.

Depression

Depression is a period of sadness lasting two weeks or more. It interrupts thinking clearly and moving forward with life.

How Can I Help?

I offer individualized counseling comprised of fifty-minute sessions weekly. My background and training allow me to help even the most acute patients suffering from mood-related symptoms, including depression and anxiety. This includes patients who suffer so much that sadness or anxiety gets in the way of daily living, relationships, or educational goals. Many of my patients enter treatment feeling overwhelmed or even acutely suicidal.
